I remember the time in my school days, when there was a subject called Moral Science. That used to be the most relaxing period for us, as it was more of an objective subject than subjective. There were never long lectures or theories taught in that class. Most of the part of the curriculum covered stories and discussions on general situations. The class aimed to instil a strong foundation to be a good citizen of the country or whichever part of the world we reside-in.

These days there is no one subject for teaching the morals, but the complete curriculum is built around to make the students sound on moral grounds. It’s very important to know that no one thing can be categorized under morality, but the overall personality of the child is built around it. With the growing news of children abusing and getting abused and many other moral issues, it’s imperative to make sure that the child id engraving the right moral values, both in school as well as home.
Moral vs Digital Ability
Children from the age till 7 are compassionate and quick learners. Their sub-conscious is heavily influenced by life-experiences which are majorly dependent on the parents and teachers. With the digital boom, this part is slowly dwindling as children are mostly exposed to the digital world. The virtual connection with the digital media cuts the link with real-life empathy, blinds the sight of what is right & wrong in the child. These factors severely affect the conscience and morality of a child.
As the parents and teachers are the role model for children, both need to watch their actions. The adults should realize their behaviour around children. For that, they need to clear their path of conscience, get rid of the negativity and hindrances that often comes in the way of their regular lives and impact the communication with children. Granted that adulthood comes with its own set of challenges, but careful efforts should be made in keeping the ominous atmosphere at bay when around a child.
Communication is a crucial element that effectively reinforces the connection. The parents and teachers should create such a comforting environment at home and in school, that the child fears nothing to talk-about. The spiritual path is a constant guiding light in a child’s heart but paving the right direction towards that light is the job that parents and teachers have to fulfil for the betterment of children.
Path of Growth
The initial step is to give unconditional love and care to young minds. It will act as a reassurance and give them a strong foundation of great self-esteem and self-love. Communication should always be bidirectional. The children need to express their thoughts comfortably from the starting. This will help in the demanding situations at the later stage, where there is a dire requirement to maintain the conscience of children. Above all this, the most important thing is to grow, evolve & heal personally as an individual, for the parent and the teacher, to set the right role model for the child in a physical, mental, emotional, spiritual & psychological sense.
